2. Christie Falls: The Okanagan's most spectacular waterfall
If you’re looking for a more challenging adventure to the Okanagan's highest waterfall then Christie Falls is an ideal choice. A rough, pot-holed, road leads you deep into the Okanagan Highlands. Access to this gem is suitable for a truck or SUV. The last pitch before the parking lot is a bit steep but the walk will only be a few minutes longer if you choose to park there. The trail starts off as a gentle walk through a burned out forest to the top of the falls. In the spring the wildflowers are incredibe but do the elevation the snow lingers longer than you would expect. A very steep and not very child friendly trail descends beside the falls with ropes to assist your descent on a steep and slippery trail. Once at the bottom you can walk in behind the falls and explore the overhangs and eroded recessed caves behind the falls. Christie Falls is particularly beautiful in the spring when the water flow is at its peak but this also limits 'dipping' access into the falls which can be refreshing on a hot day.
3. Crawford Falls: A Secluded Oasis Near Kelowna
Just a short drive from Kelowna, Crawford Falls offers an easy access waterfall experience. The trail to the falls is moderately challenging, but with the addition of metal stairs access to the lower falls is much easier than it used to be. The reward is well worth the effort. The falls themselves are divided into two tiers, each with its own unique beauty. The lower falls are easily accessible, while the upper falls require a bit more scrambling but provide a more private and serene experience. Crawford Falls is a great spot to soak in a cool creek on a hot day.
4. Bear Creek Falls: A Spectacular Canyon Adventure
Bear Creek Falls, located in Bear Creek Provincial Park, is one of the most impressive waterfalls in the Okanagan.
