I love to be outdoors. Now that ski season has ended I try to get out in the local Okanagan hills as much as possible. This usually involves hiking with far too much gear up one of our local mountains and spending the night.
As often as not I'm by myself which suits me just fine. There's something very peaceful about being away from all the humans. Just a little rumble of traffic in the distance and the sporadic scamper of vermin.
My first trip this year was up Mount Boucherie in West Kelowna. I went up with a couple of friends and camped on the east peak. This is always a favourite as the views are stunning and it's a relatively easy hike. 25 minutes or so with a huge pack.
In more recent hikes I try to schedule these around the aurora forecast as it gives me something interesting to shoot. This particular trip there was not much going on other than good company. So having said that I dug into the archives to come up with a few of my favourites shots from previous trips.
